Glenfiddich's Gran Cortes XXII is a twenty-two-year-old Speyside whisky that stands out from the distillery's usual offerings. It has been matured in scarce Spanish Palo Cortado Sherry Casks, which impart a wealth of luscious fruity notes complemented by a finely balanced array of spices. Scents of dates, dark chocolate, and raisins give way to sweet oak, vanilla, and marzipan on the palate, followed by the emergence of citrus fruits, fruitcake, and subtle hints of cinnamon on the finish.
